English born and raised, now a permanent resident of the United States - Tampa, Florida, to be precise. I came here originally while working for a $2-3bn container shipping company, in Information Systems/Technology, but that company was acquired, and my role came to an end. I was the General Manager (of Windows Server Systems) and then an Enterprise Architect. An Enterprise Architect can also be called a Solutions Architect, and that means: I fix problems. Usually Infrastructure related - I came up through the ranks of Messaging administration and design (Microsoft Exchange, mostly), but I can do Networks, Security, Procedures and Processes (ITIL, for instance). Whatever gets the problem resolved in the most productive and cost-efficient manner.
This blog was a place for me to drop mini-articles, reviews and link collections as I made my way around the web every day — I stopped posting for a while, and I’m working out how to re-purpose this as I move forward in my career. Hope you like it - all comments welcome.
